NORTH EAST CATHOLIC HISTORY SOCIETY

Jarrow, monastery of St Bede

The Society, founded 1974, fosters interest and research into Roman Catholic history in north-east England. There is a yearly programme of talks (in Newcastle), and visits to places of Catholic interest.

A periodical, Northern Catholic History, comes out each May, with articles on medieval and modern Catholic History relating to Durham, Northumberland and Yorkshire.

EVENTS

6 September 2006 The Annual General Meeting will be held at St Andrew's, Worswick Street, Newcastle upon Tyne (Mass at 7.00 p.m., A.G.M. at 7.30 p.m.). All lectures will be on Wednesdays at 2pm at St Andrews. The Society welcomes non-members at its lectures (fee 50p).

Full membership includes Northern Catholic History (published in May each year)
£6.00 for individual members:   £10.00 for two persons at the same address.
Subscriptions are due 1 September and payable to the Treasurer.
The membership year runs from 1 September until the following 31 August.
