Index to ECA Journal and Catholic Ancestor
The journal was named ECA Journal from Volume 1 Number 1 to
Volume 2 Number 7 (1983 to 1989) and published by The Society
for Promotion of English Catholic Family History. It was
subsequently named Catholic Ancestor from Volume 2 Number 8
onwards and published by the Catholic Family History Society.
The Society of Genealogists hold a complete set of copies of
both ECA Journal and Catholic Ancestor. Where available back
issues of Catholic Ancestor may be obtained from the address
given here.
The only journals in stock for the 2 and 3 series are Volume
2 Number 8 and Volume 3 Number 5. Hence we can only provide
photocopies for requests for article from these series.
Please provide the title of the article and the page number
when requesting photocopies.
A great many other articles of value have appeared in
Recusant History, Northern Catholic History, North West
Catholic History, Staffordshire Catholic History, Worcester

The article title, the author(s) where known, and the page
number (if known) are shown for each entry. For reviews the
original author name is give and not the name of the
reviewer. The following items, which occur regularly in the
journal, have been omitted from the index: Chairman's Letter,
Events, Reports from Branches, New Members, Members'
Interests, Birth Briefs, and Correspondence.
