This is a very good resource. The Catholic Familiy History Society has deposited many transcripts of Mission Registers there. Click here for a list of them. The Library is at St Michael's Abbey, Farnborough.
The Society has bought the microfiches for all counties in England and Wales, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. We are happy to search for any member's ancestors, Catholic or not. Please send details such as full name, age in 1881, occupation and the counties you want searched. Write the details for each search at the top of a separate sheet of paper, which will be used for the reply, and send with sae and a cheque for £5.00 per surname, made payable to

This is an index of approximately 14,000 nuns who were in the English Province of their Order. It is arranged alphabetically by the surname of each nun and usually gives date of birth, names of parents, religious name, dates of profession, date and place of death and name of Order. Request as for the census index above; there is no charge for this.
The index so far contains the names of about 23,000 people mentioned in about 1800 wills of Lancashire Catholics. For an extract of the entries of any surname write to Margaret Butler as for the census index above; there is no charge for this.
It is hoped that these will again be on open access at the Catholic Central Library when it has re-opened at Farnborough. The library and our collection are free, but we would appreciate a donation to Catholic Central Library for giving us this help. The library has most of the other classic works for post-Reformation Catholic history in England, Scotland and Wales.
The current subscription rate is £10.00 per year, with an extra £1.00 for each additional member at the same address (one copy of the Journal). The subscription for overseas members is £14.00 per year (please pay in Sterling cheque or International Money Order).
The subscription years starts on the 1st January. New members joining during one year receive all the issues of the Journal for that year, so should renew their subscription the following 1st January.
Membership of the Society entitles you to attend any of the meetings organised by the Catholic FHS (though a small entrance fee is usually charged), receive copies of 'Catholic Ancestor', have your research interests listed and generally join in the activities of the Society.
